If you read poetry…

Then you probably recognise that feeling when you read something really great — maybe not a whole poem, perhaps just a line or stanza — and there’s no one there to share it with. This website is my answer to that problem. I use it as a notebook to jot down thoughts about the poetry I’m reading, in the hope that someone, somewhere, may find them remotely interesting. I also paste in my own publications — poems, reviews and articles.

Then I hope this site will give you some idea why reading and writing poetry is a uniquely satisfying way to spend your time. I’m not here to preach or evangelise, but if I manage to infect you with some of my enthusiasm for poetry then I’ll be delighted.
